Pure Essential Oils You Can Blend To Help Grow Your Hair!

April 8th, 2010

Therapeutic grade essential oils hold the promise for a great many people of stimulating the growth of bountiful healthy hair. Whether one is regrowing hair after hair loss, preventing the loss of hair, or just looking to make their hair more beautiful and lustrous than ever, essential oils and the carrier oils that comprise therapeutic aromatherapy formulas are very much worth investigating. We’ll first look at how and why you “build” your recipe, and conclude with a couple excellent formulations.

What Goes Into A Hair Growth Stimulating Formula?

Many essential oils have found a place in today’s ultra-high end skin and hair products, often listed as “botanical extracts”. The active essential oils will generally fall into one of these categories: Stimulating, which enhance the “throughput” of the follicles — increasing their metabolic rate, and thus hair growth. Then there’s Nutrient Providing: several essential oils have a deep reddish or orange color, indicating a high concentration of growth promoting vitamins and vitamin-like compounds. Finally, the all-important Balancing oils create the optimum environment for the healthiest skin, follicles and hair, potentially moving out-of-balance conditions (over-oily, over-dry, or even hormone-deficient) to healthier states.

Revving Up Those Follicles

We’ll begin by looking at the “stimulating” essential oils. These essential oils are used in skin and hair care to stimulate cellular metabolism (increasing the oxygen and nutrients used by the cell) or stimulate the growth of new cells. The most popular of these are Rosemary and Sage. Sage MAY be the more powerful of the two oils, but it should not be used by children, or by women who are pregnant — or may becoming so. Rosemary is the most popular, and if you do choose Rosemary, be sure you find the type that’s specific to skin and hair care: it’s called “Rosemary Verbenone” — and while a little more expensive than the common Rosemary, it’ll be far more effective for this purpose. Use either or both of these two essential oils at a concentration of no greater than 1% in your base (we’ll talk about calculating this figure at the end).

The Deep Colored Nutritive Oils: Carrot and Sea Buckthorn

The nutritive oils include Sea Buckthorn and Carrot Root essential oils. These are both available as carrier oils as well, and you may choose to use them as a portion of your base, rather than as an “active ingredient”. Up to you. Both these oils have high levels of vitamins that can promote healthy hair growth. Sea Buckthorn may be the mos popular and easy to find. Use at a 1/2% to 2% concentration. These oils are safe to use for everyone.

A Few Oils for Maximum Overall Health

Many, many people have either over-dry or over-oily scalp conditions which wreak havoc on hair growth. Balance is what’s needed here, and here’s the oils to do it. Lavender is the most widely used “balancing” oil, that has a wealth of therapeutic effects. If you do not have an outstanding skin condition that really needs clearing up, add a little Lavender to your blend — it is thought to really tie all the components together to help them work most effectively. If you’ve got an over-oily condition, a little Myrtle essential oil is thought to do the trick. It’s cleansing and balancing at the same time, restoring sebaceous output to proper levels. Finally, for mature women, be sure to use a little Clary Sage, thought to restore cellular estrogen levels to their optimum for the most beautiful skin and hair.

Your Formulation’s Foundation: The “Carrier” Oils

One would imagine for an “oil treatment”, there must be some oil involved somewhere. The essential oils, interestingly, are really not “oils” — they are very complex natural mixtures made up of readily-evaporated compounds. “Oils” on the other hand, are made up of larger, longer chain molecules that don’t evaporate so easily. Olive oil is an example — though in aroma-therapy, generally seed and nut oils are used due to their diverse array of therapeutic activity. In these blends, the oils of choice are Coconut — very therapeutic, and may stimulate hair growth all by itself. Rosehip Seed — highly regarded for its regenerative properties. Jojoba — important for those with dry, brittle, thin hair. And Evening Primrose, who’s essential fats are excellent for inflamed scalp conditions, and can offer important nutrients which may be missing from the diet (Hemp seed is also an appropriate choice for the same reasons). Each carrier can be used alone, or in combination with others. Use all four if you like, you’re hair won’t be sorry!

Putting Your Blend Together

Sometimes people are a little intimidated by mixing their own essential oil formula, but it’s really much easier than even baking cookies. Let’s describe how to make 1 ounce of hair stimulating blend, and then you can easily multiply the values to make larger amounts. This is best done in a 1 ounce empty dropper bottle, but again, you can start with a larger one if you like. To make the base, fill the bottle most of the way with your carriers. If you’re using using more than one carrier, estimating equal parts of each is fine. Make sure you leave a little room at the top for the essential oils! So, for each 1% of an essential oil, just add 8 drops of that oil to your bottle. Using 1% Rosemary? Add 8 drops. 2% Lavender, 16 drops. 1/2% Sage? 4 drops. To Make 2 ounces of final blend, just double these numbers — to make 4 ounces, multiply them by 4, and so on.

Practical, Effective Recipes for Men and Women

Each recipe will make four (4) ounces total formula, which should last 2-4 months with regular use. For women, use equal parts of all four carriers — that’s 1 ounce each Coconut, Rosehip, Evening Primrose and Jojoba (of course you’re free to modify this !). Add the following essential oils: 16 drops Sage, 16 drops Rosemary, 64 drops Sea Buckthorn, 32 drops Lavender and 16 drops Clary Sage. This will be an absolutely amazing formula. For men, use 2 ounces each Coconut and Rosehip Seed (if you are prone to acne, use Hemp instead of Rosehip). Add the following essential oils: 32 drops Rosemary, 16 drops Sage, 64 drops Carrot Root, 32 drops Lavender. Again, a truly excellent formula!

Now you can lightly swirl or invert your mixture until you feel it’s blended. Don’t shake it if you can avoid it, as it’s not such a good idea to introduce air into your oils too much (it can shorten the shelf life — which, by the way, should be about six months if kept in a cool, dark spot). The most effective oil treatment program is to first shampoo your hair, or at least moisten your scalp with warm water. This opens the pores and increases absorption of the oils. Then using an eye-dropper, distribute 1 to 2 droppers-full around your scalp and massage the oil in. Wrapping your head in a warm moist towel for the next 20 minutes to an hour can maximize absorption, and/or you can sleep with it on your scalp. And there you have it! A simple, effective means of supporting hair growth with the therapeutic potentials of essential oils.

Organic Foodstuff And Hair Loss Input

February 16th, 2010

Within the recent past researchers have found that the foods you eat can have an astounding impact on hair loss and hair re-growth. Today organic foods not only taste sensational but have a much higher nutrient content. You recognize that is what you want if you are trying to stop your hair loss.

In the search to get the healthiest, most nourishing food to fuel our families, many folks want to obtain the foods that are healthier and purer by going more organic. Organic foods are grown not including the use of synthetic pesticides, chemical fertilizers or genetically engineered ingredients.

As for the natural world, organic farming helps keep the air, soil, and water pure and pure by not using artificial pesticides or chemical fertilizers. Green and organic are both becoming popular concepts in this era and age.

The way that foods and agricultural products are grown and processed is what determines if it is organic or not. A farming system that maintains and replenishes the soil organically and without the use of lethal fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides is considered to be organic. Organic farming is based upon working within the natural constraints of the environment without the addition of anything synthetic or chemical.

When you eat organic foods, you limit your contact to risky chemicals, artificial herbicides, fungicides and insecticides. You also curb your intakes of antibiotics and growth hormones. Genetically modified foods are also barred from carrying the “organic” label.

Back in 2002 the USDA put the national organic standards into place. These standards ensure reliability for all organic products that are marketed in the United States. Meticulous labeling rules were put into place so that the everyday buyer would know the precise organic content of a food. The “USDA Organic” seal can only be used on products that are at least 95% organically certified.

The four labeling categories that you should look for when you are purchasing organic product include:

1 100% organic. These products can carry the USDA Organic seal on the label as the entire contents of the product have been certified organic

2 Organic. This means that at least 95% of the product’s content is certified organic. These products may include very trivial amounts of less important ingredients that are not certified organic. They may also exhibit the USDA Organic seal.

3 Made with Organic ingredients. At least 70% of the product’s contents are certified Organic.

4 Products that contain less than 70% Organic contents can only categorize the organic ingredients on the ingredient listing on the label.

Some grocery stores have gone through a painstaking test to be “certified Organic”. This requires extensive research, planning and commitment to the organic process and the stores must present proof of how the food is transported, stored and sold.

Alopecia Hair Loss- Answers To Frequently Asked Questions

January 28th, 2010

Two out of a hundred persons suffer with some form of alopecia hair loss according to various estimates. Some just have small bald patches, others have complete hair loss on the scalp. In extreme cases there can be a total absence of body hair.

The biggest questions people have about alopecia hair loss are answered below:

What’s a good definition of alopecia hair loss?

For a start, let’s make sure we can pronounce the word correctly. Al-oh-PEE-shah is how alopecia is pronounced, with the third syllable PEE getting most of the emphasis. Alopecia refers to “partial or complete hair loss.” Often you see it called by it’s proper title “Alopecia Areata” and additional words may be added to indicate the severity of the condition or the specific area that is affected.

Multilocularis: A number of bald spots on the head

Barbae: Bald areas affecting just the beard

Totalis: No hair at all on the head and scalp

Universalis: No body hair at all

How does a person get Alopecia hair loss?

This condition is not limited to a particular segment of the population. It can affect males and females of all ages and races. Heredity can play a role it appears, as 20% of individuals with the condition have family members who suffer with alopecia hair loss.

Interestingly though, records show that the parents of most of the children who suffer with alopecia hair loss did not have it themselves. And the reverse is also true, the majority of children whose parents suffer with it did not have alopecia themselves.

Alopecia hair loss is not contagious. It is classified as an autoimmune diseases meaning the body’s natural defences can turn on itself. In this case, a virus or some other environmental factor, can trigger off the sequence of events which causes white blood cells to attack the cells in the hair follicle which cause hair to grow.

The main question for many is: Will hair grow back again?

Everyone is different. There are various ways in which a person might be affected:

Hair regrows but falls out again

The hair loss only affects a few patches, and then grows again for good

Hair may fall out, regrow, fall out, regrow, and so on for many years

For most people, they find the hair that comes back is the same color as the hair they lost in the first place

In a few cases, the hair that regrows is white but then gradually regains its original color

What is the solution for alopecia hair loss?

Scientists are still trying to find a better solution but for now there are some drugs on the market which can definitely help in promoting hair growth. Included in these are:

Rogaine, also called Minoxidil because of the main ingredient, is a drug designed to treat male and female pattern hair loss. It has been approved by the FDA.

Corticosteroids – powerful drugs which have the effect of suppressing the immune system

To cope with the change in appearance caused by alopecia hair loss, some sufferers use a variety of accessories including hats, scarves, clothing, cosmetics, or jewelry to skilfully camouflage the condition. Also, an organization worth noting is the National Alopecia Areata Foundation (alopeciaareata.com) which puts alopecia sufferers in touch with each other so they can exchange practical ideas, thoughts and suggestions by means of a message board system.

You Deserve To Have Silky And Healthy Hair!

December 1st, 2009

One of the most important components of a woman’s image is her hair. Every morning most women get up earlier in order to style their hair properly and many of them make a lot of effort to have beautiful shiny hair. But not every one has such hair by nature. Some women’s hair is damaged, thin and unattractive, and it needs urgent help. Here are some tips that will make your hair much healthier and much more beautiful in a few weeks:

• Never neglect your hair and your hairstyle. Many women don’t spend any time taking care of themselves and then they complain about having bad and unattractive hair. Some women simply hate their hair. This is not going to work, because for having beautiful hair you have to love it and take care of it. Make a decision to take care of your hair properly from now.
• You have to accept the type of hair you were given by nature. So what, if you don’t like that it is thin or curly? Believe me, curly women want to have straight hair, while women with straight hair would give anything for their hair to be a bit curlier and they get perms! The same with thickness of your hair – you think that your thin hair is awful? Well, thick hair gives more possibilities of hairstyle, but believe me, many women suffer from having thick hair, because it is very difficult to take care of it, to do it and to apply hair curlers on them, because there is so much hair that it requires unbelievable amounts of time and quantity of hair curlers! Still hating you thin hair?
• I hope that you have somehow reconsidered your treatment towards your hair by now. Now it is time to take care of your hair. Go to the hairdresser’s right now and have a nice practical haircut. It is very important that the hairdresser cuts off all the split ends, because they make your hair look miserable and prevent it from growing normally. After that you have to visit the hairdresser’s every two months, or every two months and a half if you want your hair to grow longer.

• Choose a professional stylist and be loyal to him. Your hair stylist has to understand your tastes and wishes perfectly.
• Choose only quality hair care products. It is necessary to have a shampoo, a conditioner and a hair mask.
• The food you eat is very important for beauty of your hair. Eat a lot of products that are rich in calcium, magnesium and zinc, or take these elements as food supplements.
• Pamper your hair once per week with masks and skin massage.

Will Minoxidil Use Cure Your Baldness?

November 29th, 2009

Those who know these things tell us that over 50 percent of men will experience some form of thinning hair during their lifetime. Most of these cases of baldness in men are caused by is what is known as male pattern baldness, the scientific name being androgenetic alopecia. The good news is that there are 2 products which the FDA has approved as baldness treatments for men and one of these products is called minoxidil. But does this mean that minoxidil use will reverse your baldness problem?

There’s dozens if not hundreds of baldness cures on the Internet. Apart from minoxidil and finasteride none of them are approved by the FDA for use as a baldness treatment, and minoxidil is the only product approved by the FDA for use as a balding treatment by women.

It therefore follows that these are the only 2 products which have scientific evidence of their effectiveness as baldness treatments which is sufficient to convince the FDA of their effectiveness, and only one, minoxidil, has sufficient scientific evidence of it’s effectiveness for women.

If any of the hundreds of other baldness cures advertised on the internet had sufficient scientific evidence behind it to prove to the satisfaction of the FDA that they work to reverse thinning hair you can bet the application would be made to the FDA as fast as possible. To get a baldness treatment successfully approved by the FDA could be likened to a licence to print money, and any company that was able to produce this evidence in support of their product would seek approval as fast as possible.

But whilst minoxidil is the only FDA approved treatment of thinning hair in both men and women, you do need to understand a few things about minoxidil use before you start using minoxidil to treat your baldness problem.

Obviously minoxidil works to reverse thinning hair or the FDA would not have approved it. But just because it is proven to work doesn’t mean that it works for everybody. Just as there are cancer treatments which are proven to work to treat cancer, they do not work for everybody, and it is not realistic to expect minoxidil to be any different. Do not expect that just because it works for others that it will also work for you, though of course there is a good chance that it will.

The second thing to understand is that if you are considering using minoxidil to treat your thinning hair then even if it works for you you need to give it sufficient time to start working. It is not sufficient to use minoxidil for 2 months and then decide that it’s a scam. You need to commit to 6 months use at a minimum and preferably 12 before you make any judgment about whether minoxidil works for you. It is too easy to decide that it’s not working and to discontinue minoxidil use too early.

And finally you need to understand, before commencing minoxidil use, that if you have a successful result you need to continue using the product or the results will be lost. Your thinning hair will return over time if you discontinue minoxidil use.

Clearly using minoxidil works to reverse thinning hair in men and women but this does not automatically mean that it will work for you. You need to have realistic expectations and need to be prepared to commit to a sufficient trial before making any decisions on how minoxidil is working to you. There is now a new product available which combines minoxidil with a range of essential hair nutrients increases the likelihood that it will work for you, however this also is not guaranteed to work for everybody.

If, after understanding what using minoxidil means, you’re interested in finding out which product combines minoxidil with essential hair nutrients then visit my website.

A Good Candidate For A Face Lift Surgery

November 28th, 2009

Any surgical operation has some dangers and risks connected with it, and in case of cosmetic surgery you have to consider a lot of factors before you resort to it. Below you will find some important criteria that make a good candidate for a face lift surgery – one of the most popular cosmetic surgeries in the world today.

• Consider the state of your health. Any surgery is dangerous for a persons life, even if they are completely healthy, let alone if they have some troubles with health or poor immunity system. Some people can have serious contraindications to surgery, and you may not even know them before you address a doctor and let him examine you. For example, heart-related diseases pose a great risk to your life during an operation under general anaesthetics, because your heart can fail to stand it. Even if you are sure that you have no diseases and that your health is in excellent condition, it is still better to pass a general examination. If you take some medications, it is crucial that you inform your surgeon about it, because some of them can be incompatible with the anaesthetics, or there may be some other troubles, so it is possible that for the time being you will have to stop taking these medications, or replace them with other ones, or limit their intake.

• Consider your psychological health. Your physical health is very important, but your emotional condition before the surgery has a great influence of the outcome of the surgery. If you are fully emotionally prepared to everything that you are about to go through, than your face-lift surgery is very likely to be successful. But if your inner self is contradicting your intention to have a face-lift, it means that you are emotionally not prepared, and in this case it is much more likely that your operation will be not as successful as you expect.
• Consider your age. Dear women in their thirties, you have no reasons to have a face-lift surgery! Even if there are already some wrinkles on your face, in your age your skin is still able to regenerate itself if you help it with some natural means. Cosmetic surgery should be your last resort, and it is not recommended to have it before forty. Having a face lift done in your seventies is not a very good option either.
• Consider your skin condition. As stated above, face lift is something you can do if you see no other way out, i.e. if the wrinkles are deep and the skin is distinctly drooping. In any other cases you can restore elasticity of your skin using some natural means.

Factors That Cause Female Infertility

November 28th, 2009

The amount of women who are infertile while being in their childbearing age is constantly growing. This is a complete disaster for many women, especially those who don’t have children at all and want them very much. Of course there are options like child adoption, but it is totally unwise to leave the problem just like that. Women infertility can be cured even in the most hopeless cases, and there are a lot of miraculous stories of women who suddenly got pregnant after they have been trying to conceive for ages. Whatever is your situation, there is always a chance. It is very important to know what the infertility is caused by. Here are the most common factors that are believed to cause female infertility:
• IUD (intrauterine devices). This is a popular contraception means, which, according to the researches, is very likely to cause pelvic inflammatory disease and infertility. IUDs often become the cause of different infections, as they are foreign mechanisms that are installed into your body from the outside.
• Postponement of pregnancy. Lately there has been a tendency of women postponing childbearing because of their career, family status and financial situation. This is rather clever on the one hand, but on the other hand the female body is most fertile in twenties, and after that the childbearing functions begin to fade, if not realised.
• Abnormalities of the fallopian tubes. Some chronic diseases and conditions of your body can cause problems with fallopian tubes, which most often are reflected on your menstruation cycle. If you see any irregularities in the cycle, they can be a sign of some serious internal inflammations, which prevent your ovaries from functioning normally. Fallopian tubes may be simply unable to pass the eggs to the uterus normally because of the adhesion of their sides. Actually, such abnormalities can be caused by numerous factors, such as large physical strain, supercooling, etc.
• Endometriosis. You probably know that menstruation is the process of shedding the endometrium of a woman’s uterus. This happens when the pregnancy didn’t occur, and the endometrium, which has been prepared to absorb the foetus for its further growth, has to come out of your body because of being useless. Endometriosis is a condition in which the endometrium is placed outside the uterus, and most often it covers the nearest organs in the pelvic area, but sometimes the fragments of endometrium can be found even on lungs. These areas bleed during the menstruation just as does the uterus, but the blood from uterus comes outside, while the rest of the blood has no way out of your organism, This can cause pains and scarring, which often block ovaries and prevents the egg from getting into the fallopian tube.

How To Make Your Hair Gorgeous?

November 26th, 2009

Dear women, this article is devoted to you and beauty of your hair. Dear men, if you are reading this, you can be shocked at some things that you will read here, because if you have never seen a women grooming herself, it can be a surprise to you that most women spend whole hours taking care of their hair, making it look perfect and stylish. Many women even get up an hour or so earlier than needed in order to style their hair. Very few women have gorgeous, shiny and thick hair by nature, so the rest have to do everything instead of nature every morning.

Ladies, did you know that men, no matter how earnestly they insist on the fact that in the first instance they pay attention to women’s breast and legs, in fact see the general picture of you? They don’t spot the details, they see you as a whole. And what makes any woman much more attractive, stylish and original? Among some other important things, it is their hairstyle.
Here are some tips for you that will help you to make your hair gorgeous with minimum effort. If you do everything correctly, you probably won’t even have to spend hours on your hairstyle.
• Wash and condition your hair regularly. No hairstyle will rescue you if your hair looks dirty and greasy. Unfortunately, a great number of women suffer from increased greasiness of skin on their head, and this requires you to wash your hair once per two days, sometimes even daily. Choose appropriate hair cosmetics and use it regularly, but it has to be designed especially for your type of hair.

• If you dye your hair, use only quality dye that contains natural ingredients. If you are a dyed blonde, you should dye the roots regularly, approximately once per three weeks. There is nothing worse and more repulsive than blonde hair with dark growing roots.
• Apply some special masks on your hair once a week. It is very important to choose a mask that suits to the type of your hair and helps to revitalize your hair and skin. There are many recipes of masks that you can make on your own, and some of them are even more effective than manufactured ones.
• As for your hairstyle, it is a very important decision. An unsuccessful haircut can ruin your image completely, and a good one can make you look totally beautiful. Visit a professional stylist and ask him to choose a hairstyle for you. The stylist has to consider your general style, type of hair, the extent of its thickness, and your own wishes. It is better not to change your hairstyle radically, as in most cases, if it proved unsuccessful, you will have to wait for years for your hair to grow again.
• Minimize the use of various hair-styling means to necessary minimum. Try not to dry your hair with a hairdryer too often, and if it is necessary in order to style your hair properly, use cool air mode.

Baldness Cures On The Internet. Should You Buy Them?

November 10th, 2009

There are tens of millions or possibly even hundreds of millions of men in the US searching for a baldness cure. It is estimated that around 50 percent of men will suffer some form of balding and most of them will hate it. For this reason baldness cures, particularly on the Internet, are big business. But how do you go about finding a genuine cure for baldness?

Baldness cures of any type are not cheap. For this reason the market for hair loss treatments is worth hundreds of millions of dollars and where there is a market that size there will be many many products available. However that does not mean that they all work or even that they are all safe for anyone to use.

There is very little regulation of the Internet and anyone can design a website to sell a cure for baldness without being required to show that it is safe or that it reverses hair loss. On the Internet it’s buyer beware.

It’s very easy to get ripped off buying baldness cures on the Internet. Not only is there a fair chance they will not reverse your hair loss there is also a likelihood that they may be harmful to your health and to your wallet. Does this mean that you should forget about regrowing your hair?

No, don’t forget about it at all. In the US there is an organization that is required to regulate products like this. The FDA is tasked with that job and has approved 2 products as men’s hair loss treatments. The FDA has satisfied itself that both these products work to treat of men’s baldness, including male pattern baldness which causes over 90 percent of thinning hair in men.

We can fairly assume that if the FDA is satisfied that these products work as baldness cures there is sufficient evidence that this is the case. In fact there are scientific studies demonstrating that these products work as a cure for baldness. Whilst that may be the case they will not work for everybody and no product works as a baldness cure for everybody.

The 2 FDA approved baldness cures for men are finasteride and minoxidil. Finasteride is marketed as Propecia and is not approved for use in cases of hair loss by women because it has been shown to have some serious side-effects for women who use it to reverse hair loss. Although it is approved for men it can also have some side-effects for men including loss of libido.

Minoxidil is approved for use as a hair loss treatment by both men and women. It is thought that it improves hair growth by improving the blood flow to the hair follicle thereby increasing the flow of nutrients to the follicle. In cases of male pattern baldness a hormone restricts the ability of hair follicles to absorb nutrients and so increasing the flow of nutrients would improve hair growth it would seem.

Whilst minoxidil has been shown to work as a baldness cure on its own one company has taken this one step further and released a product that combines minoxidil with a range of essential hair nutrients. It would also make sense that more blood flow to the hair follicle that allows the follicle to absorb more nutrients would work better if all those nutrients were available in the blood.

This product seems to work more effectively than simply using minoxidil on its own.

Remember, whilst there may be dozens or hundreds of baldness cures on the Internet, none of them are approved by the FDA except for finasteride and minoxidil. Minoxidil alone is approved for both men and women.

Visit my website to find out more about a product that combines minoxidil with a range of essential hair nutrients to increase the likelihood of hair regrowth.

How Do You Recognize Male Pattern Baldness And How Do You You Treat It?

November 1st, 2009

If you’re a man chances are high that you will experience some form of balding, in fact around 50 percent of men, statistically, will experience some form of baldness in their lives. Men’s balding is commonly the product of a condition called male pattern baldness or male pattern balding. How do you recognize the signs of male pattern baldness and what are its stages?

Pattern baldness in men is an inherited condition which predisposes you to some degree of thinning hair. Hair thinning in men progresses gradually from the point where it is virtually unnoticeable right through for some to complete baldness. It usually starts with a slightly receding hairline at the front.

At the same time the sufferer may have thinning hair on the crown of his head but this is usually not noticed. As the receding hairline at the front develops it will become more noticeable and the thinning on the crown will also be noticed.

This gradual balding advances until it is quite obvious that he has receding hair and a bald spot developing on the crown. Over time these 2 may grow together until they join up to produce baldness right across the top of his head.

This may then advance to the point where the man becomes bald right through the top of his head with only a horse shoe of hair around the back and sides.

This is a general description of the signs and the stages of male pattern balding. It may or may not advance like this for you however whether it will is unknown until it happens. Some men suffer much less balding than described.

The cause of the baldness in cases of male pattern balding is now understood. DHT (dihydrotestosterone) which is a male hormone slowly limits the capacity of hair follicles to absorb nutrients and the result of this is that the follicle shrinks and the hair thins and weakens and dies.

The good news is that the FDA have approved two hair loss treatments for cases of male pattern balding. Minoxidil is one of these and it is thought that this operates by increasing the flow of blood to the hair thereby increasing nutrient supply.

One company has recognized that using minoxidil on its own is not as effective as supplying a wide range of essential hair nutrients by way of oral supplements at the same time. If minoxidil operates to increase the flow of blood to the hair follicle then supplying all the essential hair nutrients that that follicle needs for optimum health increases the chances of successful hair regrowth.

The other product approved by the FDA is finasteride marketed as Propecia which also has been shown to be effective as a hair loss treatment however has some side-effects for men limiting sex drive which can obviously be a problem. However studies show that finasteride works as well.

Whilst there are 2 approved products neither will work for everyone and you need to commit to at least 6 months use and preferably 12 months use to see if they work for you.

There is a successful hair regrowth treatment for male pattern baldness. Minoxidil combined with essential hair nutrients seems to be the most successful hair regrowth treatment on the market for cases of male pattern baldness. To find out where to get it visit my website.

What Options Do You Have When Looking For Products For Thinning Hair?

October 23rd, 2009

Up to half of all men and a quarter of all women will suffer from some form of balding during their life. Some people consider baldness in men to be fashionable but no one considers female baldness to be fashionable. So the market for thinning hair products is massive and there are plenty looking for the best product for thinning hair. Lets consider the options you have when searching for products for thinning hair.

First of all let’s consider the causes of hair loss. But first let’s talk about the causes of thinning hair. Whilst there is a wide range of causes in both men and women the overwhelming cause, estimated for men to be responsible for up to 95 percent of all hairloss, is pattern baldness. This is a condition inherited from previous members of your family which genetically predisposes you to some degree of balding. There is men’s pattern baldness and women’s pattern baldness and the results for different individuals vary wildly but the method by which it operates is the same for all. A hormone called DHT slowly limits the capacity of hair follicles to take up essential hair nutrients thereby resulting in the hair thinning and weakening and eventually dying.

The market for thinning hair treatments is enormous and like all these things where there is a market there will be a product, or lots of products. If you get on the internet and search for a product for thinning hair you’ll find any number of lotions and potions and ointments and creams and shampoos and conditioners and vitamins and minerals all designed to be a thinning hair treatment. But sadly the most likely result you will get from using these products is to empty your wallet.

In fact FDA approved balding treatments are very limited, in fact there is only 2. One is finasteride which normally goes by the name of Propecia. The second is minoxidil which is found in a range of products. Both finasteride and minoxidil are approved for use in men as a baldness treatment but it is only minoxidil that has been approved for women as the use of finasteride by women can have some serious side-effects.

Neither of these products was designed as a hair loss product, finasteride was originally intended to treat the prostate and minoxidil to treat high blood pressure. But in both cases studies show that subjects who used to product exhibited an increase in growth of their hair and so further studies were done on use of the product as a balding treatment. In each case positive results were observed.

There’s many products to choose from if you’re in need of a good thinning hair treatment. But other than the 2 mentioned above no other products are FDA approved as a balding treatment. You’re welcome to try them but you do so at your own risk.

It is also true to say that neither of the 2 approved products mentioned work for everybody. Equally the degree of hair regrowth you experience may differ from that experienced by another user. And equally you should be aware that observable results, even when using either of the 2 approved products, may take quite some time to appear and you should be prepared to use either of them for a minimum of 6 months and preferably 12 months before you decide if they are working for you. But both these thinning hair treatments work.

Ultimately the method by which hair is lost in cases of pattern baldness is that the hair is deprived of essential nutrients because a particular hormone, DHT, causes this. It is thought that the way minoxidil increases hair regrowth is by increasing supply of blood to the hair follicle thereby improving its ability to uptake nutrients. One innovative company has combined the use of minoxidil with a range of essential hair nutrients that are made available to the hair follicle so that when the minoxidil allows the follicle to increase its uptake of nutrients all those nutrients are available.

This approach makes sense and would seem to be more effective than simply using minoxidil by itself. It certainly makes sense that if lack of nutrients results in poor hair growth a supply of essential nutrients, when combined with minoxidil, will increase the likelihood of successful regrowth.

The Suprising Truth For Ladies Hair Loss

September 26th, 2009

Male pattern baldness is the most common form of hair loss where most people are now talking about. The major reason of this kind of hair loss is because of the genetic transfer to offspring from their mothers. Most often the recipients of this type of hair loss are men, but sometimes the gene can result in female hair loss.

While genetic baldness in men is identified by a receding hairline or balding crown, genetic hair loss in women is a bit different. In most cases, a woman will not lose her hair in spots only but will thin out evenly spread over the head. Sometimes, this thinning can be quite severe and result in the woman having to wear a wig to cover up her thinning tresses. While female hair loss almost never results in a completely bald head, it can be extreme abundant to expose the scalp quite plainly.

For the woman facing this type of hair loss, there are a few women hair loss treatment options that can be studied . They include best hair loss products and topical treatments, such as Rogaine for women, which stimulate hair growth and prevent further hair loss; vitamin supplements; and stimulatory treatments such as massage and infra-red therapy. The most successful of these hair loss treatments are the topical treatments. While they are quite expensive, they produce the best results.

Hair loss due to chemical processes

No matter how healthy and strong your hair is today, you could experience severe hair loss after undergoing a harsh chemical process such as a perm or color. While almost all chemical hair fallout is due to operator error, the chance of it occurring is multiplied by chemical services that you conduct on your hair at home. Ive seen more than one case of female hair loss in clients who have bleached their hair at home, colored it over and then came to the salon for yet another bleaching. Not knowing this past history, the stylist used too strong a chemical, and the process resulted in hair loss.

Since most of the cause of hair loss women do not result in complete hair loss, the women hair loss treatment options include protein treatments and other conditioning treatments to strengthen the remaining hair; a good hair cut that will remove most of the damage; and a gentle hair-care routine that will lessen further hair loss due to breakage. You should also refrain from using thermal styling tools and undergoing any further chemical procedures until the hair is completely grown out.

Hair loss due to stress

Cases of severe stress can literally result in handfuls of hair loss at a time. Women experiencing stressful conditions can experience female hair loss represented by thinning all over the head or in spots called alopecia areata. Alopecia areata means Hair loss in spots or areas, and can result in bald circular patches on one or more spots of the scalp. While this type of hair loss is alarming, it is not permanent. After the stress is disappeared , most sufferers of this type of hair loss regrow all of the hair that they lost.

In most cases, the hair loss treatment for stress-related hair loss is minimal. After ruling out other underlying causes of hair loss, your doctor will likely recommend changes in your diet or ideas to help alleviate your stress. Keep in mind that it can take months for your hair to grow back even after the stressors have been discard .

Hair loss due to illness

Any type of extended illness or surgery can result in hair loss. Medications taken to fight against certain types of illnesses can also cause your hair to become brittle and break or fall out altogether. The most identifiable what causes hair loss women is the loss associated with chemotherapy treatments. In most cases, this hair loss is complete and affects all areas of the body.

As you may have already guessed, hair loss in women is more common than we might think. And many may be experiencing hair loss and dismiss it as a natural occurrence that comes along with age. A lot of these women fail to seek the necessary shampoo for hair loss that can help them keep their remaining hair and regrow new hair. So, if you are experiencing hair loss, do not think that it is just because you are getting older. There may be something that you can do to keep the hair on your head from clogging your drain.

Best Hair Loss Treatment Organin

April 25th, 2009

Finally there is something out there on the market, which actually works.

For the past four years my elderly neighbour has been severely depressed as a result of losing her hair. Hair loss is something that is generally only associated with men and as a result the women who tend to suffer from hair loss feel alienated and alone not to mention stared at.

Unfortunately hair loss is becoming more and more common amongst women. However, after helping my neighbour in her search for a treatment, which would actually help instead of just raising her hopes, we were recommended by a friend to try out their best hair loss treatment Organin.

Obviously results, as in most cases are not instantaneous, they take time but within a few weeks, my neighbour began to have hope again as she could see the change and within a few more weeks, there was a definite improvement. My neighbour is now much happier thanks to Organin.

I feel that I must recommend this product as without it, I have no doubt that my neighbour would have become more reclusive and unhappy, fearful of what people were saying about her thinning hair and bald patches.

Now she is confident enough to go out and hold her head up high thanks to now, our best hair loss treatment Organin.
