Dramatics Of Hair Loss In Women

Have you noticed a gradual and progressive increase in the number of hairs lost when combing or brushing? Perhaps after months or years of vain denial, you have realized that the mirror does not lie, visible thinning has occurred. You’re not alone if you’re experiencing breakage, increased hair shedding or significant hair loss.

Many women may cover it up with wigs, hair extensions, hats or scarves. Others choose one of the several approved medications or surgical procedures that are available to treat baldness.

Excessive hair loss or balding is mistakenly perceived as a strictly something that happens to men although women actually make up to forty percent of American hair loss sufferers. In America, one in four, or over 30 million women will seek solutions and treatment for hair loss annually.

First of all, don’t panic! Hair loss or hair shedding is consistent within the hair growth cycle and it is normal to lose some scalp hair each day. The average human scalp has roughly 100,000 to 150,000 individual hairs and the normal hair growth cycle results in the loosening or shedding of about 100 to 150 hairs on a daily basis. New hair growth then emerges from these same previous dormant hair follicles, growing at the average rate of about half an inch per month.

Hair is composed of two separate parts: the follicle and the hair shaft. The follicle lies below the scalp and produces the hair strands that we see growing out of our head. The follicle is alive, however the hair strand is simply composed of dead cells that have no regenerative ability.

For most people, 90% of our scalp hair is always in a to six year growth phase (anagen) while the remaining 10% is in a dormant period (telogen), which lasts about three months. When the dormant period ends the hair is shed; these are the worrisome hairs we obsess over in our comb, hairbrush, on our pillow or down the shower drain. Relax, some hair loss is perfectly normal.

Baldness or Alopecia happens when the normal pattern of hair growth is disrupted. The normal pattern of human hair growth is growing, resting, shedding and growing again. If the growth pattern is out of balance, hair does not grow back as readily as it falls out. A family history of androgenetic alopecia increases your risk of balding. Heredity also affects the age at which you begin to lose hair and the development, pattern and extent of your baldness.

What concerns us is not these normally shed hairs, but the noticeable thinning we confront in the mirror. For a woman, thick, vibrant hair is our crowning glory, our vanity visible. A luxuriant full mane epitomizes the beauty of a woman and is integrally woven into our self image. Our culture strongly identifies femininity with a thick, silky head of hair. Throughout recorded history, images of shining, full bodied hair are associated with female beauty, youth, desirability and good health. Society unfairly identifies dry, lack luster and thinning hair with old age, sickness and poverty.

A dramatic decrease in self esteem is evident in women when their hair begins to fall out. Hair shedding is not physically painful, however it often causes severe emotional distress. We obsess over our thin tresses as we battle depression and self loathing. Women frequently become introverted and withdraw from the world. We avoid intimate contact and make futile attempts to disguise the quality and quantity of our hair.

Hair loss is especially injurious to those who have professions or careers where physical appearance plays a significant role. A young woman is especially vulnerable to the stigma of balding. Not until we are confronted with the loss of our hair do we fully realize how essential hair is to our overall perception of ourselves.

A woman’s hair is at its thickest by age 20. Once we pass 20, however, our hair gradually begins to thin, shedding more than the normal 100-150 hairs a day. With aging, hair strands hold less pigment and become smaller so that what was once the luxuriant and thick hair of our youth becomes thin, fine and lighter in color. For even the elderly woman, significant hair loss can threaten self image. A woman’s sense of sexuality and femininity as well as her establish place in family and society are often undermined by hair loss.

It is hardly surprising when a man starts balding. By the age of thirty-five about 25 percent of American men will experience some degree of appreciable hair loss and about 75 percent are either bald or have a balding pattern by age 60.

In men, hair loss is often perceived as a sign of virility, a demonstrable sign that his male hormones are functioning at maximum capacity. To project strength and masculinity, men often choose to shave their heads.

Although many men are quite dismayed by a receding hairline, research indicates that the phycological pain of hair loss does not affect men as adversely as it impacts women. What makes coping with hair loss so difficult is the frightening lack of control, the feeling of the inability to do anything to make our hair stop falling out.

Causes Of Hair Loss In Women

As we age, women face a multitude of changes and challenges: wrinkles, a widening waist, cellulite deposits and thickening ankles. It does not seem fair that for many of us hair loss is yet another blow to our self esteem.

Female pattern baldness or Androgenetic Alopecia is the most common type of hair loss in women and is genetic in nature. This type of female balding is caused by the chemical Dihydrotestosterone or DHT which builds up around the air follicle and over time destroys both the hair shaft and the hair follicle. Pregnancy or the onset of menopause may cause a fluctuation in the production of estrogen. Lacking sufficient estrogen to produce testosterone-blocking enzymes, testosterone is then converted to DHT on the scalp. The result is a shorter hair growth cycle, finer hair and excessive hair loss from shedding and breakage. Some women experience an increase in hair loss several months after delivering a baby.

Genetics aside, there are many other reasons why women lose hair. Surgery, extreme physical or emotional stress, hormonal imbalances, chemotherapy and scalp infections are but a few. Female hair loss can also be triggered by birth control medications, certain prescription drugs or result from the use of harsh chemicals or aggressive styling that can cause permanent damage to the fragile hair follicle. Excessive hair shedding may also be symptomatic of rapid weight loss from dangerous fad-dieting or an eating disorder such as anorexia. The use of street drugs such as cocaine will also exhibit sudden and severe hair shedding.

When To Contact A Medical Professional

Reacting intensely to the physical state of our thinning hair may seem like excessive vanity, but it is not. Baldness is not usually caused by disease, but is more commonly related to heredity, aging and hormone function. However, changes in hair appearance, texture and growth patterns may indicate serious health concerns. Hair is one of the first areas, along with skin and nails, to reflect nutritional deficiencies, hormonal imbalance and illness. It is wise to pay attention.

Women’s hair seems to be particularly sensitive to underlying medical conditions so it is important that women with undiagnosed hair loss be properly evaluated by a physician. If your thinning hair is a result of a medical condition, your doctor will treat these ailments and as a result you may experience significant growth of new hair.

Once you and your doctor have identified the cause of your hair loss you may be referred to a hair specialist or implant surgeon to learn about the treatment options available such as or hair transplant procedures to promote growth or hide loss. For some types of alopecia, hair may resume normal growth without any treatment.

A healthy balanced diet, regular exercise, hydration and rest can go a long way towards preventing hair loss and maximizing the potential of your hair growth cycle.

Although medical research is on going, the following have proved beneficial in growing and maintaining a healthy head of hair.

Nutrition

Poor nutrition is often an underlying cause of hair loss as the hair is a reliable indicator of nutritional well being. Discuss with your health care provider your diet, all medications and any supplements you may be taking. Dull hair color or dry and brittle hair may be indicators of a deficiency in essential fats in the diet, oily hair may be a sign of a B vitamin deficiency.

Recent medical studies have found that a high percentage of women with thinning hair are deficient in iron and the amino acid lysine. It is difficult to obtain sufficient lysine through diet alone. Lysine is important in the transport of iron and necessary to support hair growth. Lysine is found in eggs and red meat so vegetarians needs to be aware of this potential shortfall in their diets.

The amino acids L-Cysteine and L-Methionine are believed to improve hair texture, quality and growth.

Low-fat foods that rank high in protein, low in carbohydrates, can play a vital role in sustaining healthy hair growth and aid in preventing hair loss. Important essential fatty acids for maintaining hair health are found in walnuts, sunflower seeds, sardines, spinach, soy and canola oil. Omega 3 and Omega 6 Oils protect the heart as well as your hair so include salmon in your diet on a regular basis.

Herbal Remedies Offer Hope For Hair Loss

Discuss with your nutritional advisor or medical professional the benefits of herbs. The following natural plant derivatives have properties to encourage a healthy head of hair.

Aloe
Arnica
Birch
Burdock
Catmint
Chamomile
Horsetail
Licorice
Marigold
Nettles
Parsley
Rosemary
Sage
Hair Care

Always choose organic natural products to avoid the chemicals and toxins found in many hair care products. Harsh chemicals may strip the natural oils from your hair and lead to breakage and poor hair growth. Dye, hair straightening and permanent solutions are highly destructive to the hair shaft and follicle as well as the delicate sebum balance of the scalp.

Be gentle with your hair. Allow hair to dry naturally rather than using a hair dryer. A natural bristle brush is helpful in preventing damage. Do not style until completely dry. Wet hair is weak hair so handle with care.

Avoid or break any bad habits you may have that pull or twist the hair. Try not to constantly run your fingers through your hair, tug at the hair and avoid hair clips or rubber bands that pull at and break off the hair. Minimize the usage of mousse, gels and hair sprays. These products dry and weigh down the hair shaft and dull the natural luster of your hair.

Avoid salt and chlorinated water when swimming. If exposed, always wash the hair with cool water and an organic gentle shampoo and apply a mild conditioner. Sun worshippers should make sure that hair care products have sunscreen properties to protect hair from the damaging affects of UV rays. Remember to wear a hat to prevent sunburn of the scalp.

Healthy Lifestyle

Hair loss is traumatic, however our hair is only part of who we are. I remind myself to keep my obsession with my hair loss in perspective and be happy with all the other areas of my life that are going right and in balance. Focus on the positive, eat well, rest well and be at peace with who you are. Remember, that for some, hair grows back as mysteriously as it disappeared.

Will Minoxidil Use Cure Your Baldness?

November 29th, 2009

Those who know these things tell us that over 50 percent of men will experience some form of thinning hair during their lifetime. Most of these cases of baldness in men are caused by is what is known as male pattern baldness, the scientific name being androgenetic alopecia. The good news is that there are 2 products which the FDA has approved as baldness treatments for men and one of these products is called minoxidil. But does this mean that minoxidil use will reverse your baldness problem?

There’s dozens if not hundreds of baldness cures on the Internet. Apart from minoxidil and finasteride none of them are approved by the FDA for use as a baldness treatment, and minoxidil is the only product approved by the FDA for use as a balding treatment by women.

It therefore follows that these are the only 2 products which have scientific evidence of their effectiveness as baldness treatments which is sufficient to convince the FDA of their effectiveness, and only one, minoxidil, has sufficient scientific evidence of it’s effectiveness for women.

If any of the hundreds of other baldness cures advertised on the internet had sufficient scientific evidence behind it to prove to the satisfaction of the FDA that they work to reverse thinning hair you can bet the application would be made to the FDA as fast as possible. To get a baldness treatment successfully approved by the FDA could be likened to a licence to print money, and any company that was able to produce this evidence in support of their product would seek approval as fast as possible.

But whilst minoxidil is the only FDA approved treatment of thinning hair in both men and women, you do need to understand a few things about minoxidil use before you start using minoxidil to treat your baldness problem.

Obviously minoxidil works to reverse thinning hair or the FDA would not have approved it. But just because it is proven to work doesn’t mean that it works for everybody. Just as there are cancer treatments which are proven to work to treat cancer, they do not work for everybody, and it is not realistic to expect minoxidil to be any different. Do not expect that just because it works for others that it will also work for you, though of course there is a good chance that it will.

The second thing to understand is that if you are considering using minoxidil to treat your thinning hair then even if it works for you you need to give it sufficient time to start working. It is not sufficient to use minoxidil for 2 months and then decide that it’s a scam. You need to commit to 6 months use at a minimum and preferably 12 before you make any judgment about whether minoxidil works for you. It is too easy to decide that it’s not working and to discontinue minoxidil use too early.

And finally you need to understand, before commencing minoxidil use, that if you have a successful result you need to continue using the product or the results will be lost. Your thinning hair will return over time if you discontinue minoxidil use.

Clearly using minoxidil works to reverse thinning hair in men and women but this does not automatically mean that it will work for you. You need to have realistic expectations and need to be prepared to commit to a sufficient trial before making any decisions on how minoxidil is working to you. There is now a new product available which combines minoxidil with a range of essential hair nutrients increases the likelihood that it will work for you, however this also is not guaranteed to work for everybody.

If, after understanding what using minoxidil means, you’re interested in finding out which product combines minoxidil with essential hair nutrients then visit my website.

A Good Candidate For A Face Lift Surgery

November 28th, 2009

Any surgical operation has some dangers and risks connected with it, and in case of cosmetic surgery you have to consider a lot of factors before you resort to it. Below you will find some important criteria that make a good candidate for a face lift surgery – one of the most popular cosmetic surgeries in the world today.

• Consider the state of your health. Any surgery is dangerous for a persons life, even if they are completely healthy, let alone if they have some troubles with health or poor immunity system. Some people can have serious contraindications to surgery, and you may not even know them before you address a doctor and let him examine you. For example, heart-related diseases pose a great risk to your life during an operation under general anaesthetics, because your heart can fail to stand it. Even if you are sure that you have no diseases and that your health is in excellent condition, it is still better to pass a general examination. If you take some medications, it is crucial that you inform your surgeon about it, because some of them can be incompatible with the anaesthetics, or there may be some other troubles, so it is possible that for the time being you will have to stop taking these medications, or replace them with other ones, or limit their intake.

• Consider your psychological health. Your physical health is very important, but your emotional condition before the surgery has a great influence of the outcome of the surgery. If you are fully emotionally prepared to everything that you are about to go through, than your face-lift surgery is very likely to be successful. But if your inner self is contradicting your intention to have a face-lift, it means that you are emotionally not prepared, and in this case it is much more likely that your operation will be not as successful as you expect.
• Consider your age. Dear women in their thirties, you have no reasons to have a face-lift surgery! Even if there are already some wrinkles on your face, in your age your skin is still able to regenerate itself if you help it with some natural means. Cosmetic surgery should be your last resort, and it is not recommended to have it before forty. Having a face lift done in your seventies is not a very good option either.
• Consider your skin condition. As stated above, face lift is something you can do if you see no other way out, i.e. if the wrinkles are deep and the skin is distinctly drooping. In any other cases you can restore elasticity of your skin using some natural means.

Factors That Cause Female Infertility

November 28th, 2009

The amount of women who are infertile while being in their childbearing age is constantly growing. This is a complete disaster for many women, especially those who don’t have children at all and want them very much. Of course there are options like child adoption, but it is totally unwise to leave the problem just like that. Women infertility can be cured even in the most hopeless cases, and there are a lot of miraculous stories of women who suddenly got pregnant after they have been trying to conceive for ages. Whatever is your situation, there is always a chance. It is very important to know what the infertility is caused by. Here are the most common factors that are believed to cause female infertility:
• IUD (intrauterine devices). This is a popular contraception means, which, according to the researches, is very likely to cause pelvic inflammatory disease and infertility. IUDs often become the cause of different infections, as they are foreign mechanisms that are installed into your body from the outside.
• Postponement of pregnancy. Lately there has been a tendency of women postponing childbearing because of their career, family status and financial situation. This is rather clever on the one hand, but on the other hand the female body is most fertile in twenties, and after that the childbearing functions begin to fade, if not realised.
• Abnormalities of the fallopian tubes. Some chronic diseases and conditions of your body can cause problems with fallopian tubes, which most often are reflected on your menstruation cycle. If you see any irregularities in the cycle, they can be a sign of some serious internal inflammations, which prevent your ovaries from functioning normally. Fallopian tubes may be simply unable to pass the eggs to the uterus normally because of the adhesion of their sides. Actually, such abnormalities can be caused by numerous factors, such as large physical strain, supercooling, etc.
• Endometriosis. You probably know that menstruation is the process of shedding the endometrium of a woman’s uterus. This happens when the pregnancy didn’t occur, and the endometrium, which has been prepared to absorb the foetus for its further growth, has to come out of your body because of being useless. Endometriosis is a condition in which the endometrium is placed outside the uterus, and most often it covers the nearest organs in the pelvic area, but sometimes the fragments of endometrium can be found even on lungs. These areas bleed during the menstruation just as does the uterus, but the blood from uterus comes outside, while the rest of the blood has no way out of your organism, This can cause pains and scarring, which often block ovaries and prevents the egg from getting into the fallopian tube.

How To Make Your Hair Gorgeous?

November 26th, 2009

Dear women, this article is devoted to you and beauty of your hair. Dear men, if you are reading this, you can be shocked at some things that you will read here, because if you have never seen a women grooming herself, it can be a surprise to you that most women spend whole hours taking care of their hair, making it look perfect and stylish. Many women even get up an hour or so earlier than needed in order to style their hair. Very few women have gorgeous, shiny and thick hair by nature, so the rest have to do everything instead of nature every morning.

Ladies, did you know that men, no matter how earnestly they insist on the fact that in the first instance they pay attention to women’s breast and legs, in fact see the general picture of you? They don’t spot the details, they see you as a whole. And what makes any woman much more attractive, stylish and original? Among some other important things, it is their hairstyle.
Here are some tips for you that will help you to make your hair gorgeous with minimum effort. If you do everything correctly, you probably won’t even have to spend hours on your hairstyle.
• Wash and condition your hair regularly. No hairstyle will rescue you if your hair looks dirty and greasy. Unfortunately, a great number of women suffer from increased greasiness of skin on their head, and this requires you to wash your hair once per two days, sometimes even daily. Choose appropriate hair cosmetics and use it regularly, but it has to be designed especially for your type of hair.

• If you dye your hair, use only quality dye that contains natural ingredients. If you are a dyed blonde, you should dye the roots regularly, approximately once per three weeks. There is nothing worse and more repulsive than blonde hair with dark growing roots.
• Apply some special masks on your hair once a week. It is very important to choose a mask that suits to the type of your hair and helps to revitalize your hair and skin. There are many recipes of masks that you can make on your own, and some of them are even more effective than manufactured ones.
• As for your hairstyle, it is a very important decision. An unsuccessful haircut can ruin your image completely, and a good one can make you look totally beautiful. Visit a professional stylist and ask him to choose a hairstyle for you. The stylist has to consider your general style, type of hair, the extent of its thickness, and your own wishes. It is better not to change your hairstyle radically, as in most cases, if it proved unsuccessful, you will have to wait for years for your hair to grow again.
• Minimize the use of various hair-styling means to necessary minimum. Try not to dry your hair with a hairdryer too often, and if it is necessary in order to style your hair properly, use cool air mode.

Treatment Of Male Pattern Baldness – 3 Steps To A New Head Of Hair!

November 22nd, 2009

Before a treatment of male pattern baldness should even make your list of considerations, you need to know if your condition is treatable to begin with. What this means is that you need to answer the question… “How much hair have I lost?” The answer to this question greatly determines the extent to which you will respond to treatment.

For example, if you have gone totally bald on any or all parts of your scalp, chances are good that your hair follicles have died completely. While a surgical option like plugs or transplants may still be a viable option for you, less invasive measures will most likely have no effect.

For most of us, though, our follicles may be weak and thinning, but they are still viable, and therefore treatable. The three steps I’m about to outline for you directly treat what I believe the real root cause of male pattern baldness… follicle starvation.
Treatment of Male Pattern Baldness – 3 Steps to a New Head of Hair:

Provide Your Blood With “Hair Nourishment” – Vitamin and mineral deficiency may or may not be playing a role in your particular hair loss, but by no means does it hurt to make sure you’re giving your hair what it needs. Magnesium, iron, copper, zinc, biotin, and vitamin b6 are among the most essential nutrients your follicles are being starved of. Eat lots of fresh, raw fruits and veggies, especially avocados. And for the sake of efficiency and thoroughness, take a good, all natural multivitamin to give your hair the best possible chance of regrowth.

Free Your Blood From “Follicle Attackers” – Your hair’s mortal enemy is a male sex hormone known as dihydrotestosterone, or DHT. Those of us with male pattern baldness are genetically predisposed to produce an excessive amount of this wicked hormone, which invades our hair follicles and chokes them off from our scalp’s blood supply. Obviously, this causes inadequate nutrition, which leads to our hair thinning and eventually falling out. To combat DHT, use either the drug finasteride or its natural alternative, saw palmetto. Many men choose the saw palmetto option to avoid any of the potential sexual side effects associated with finasteride.

Restore Proper Blood Flow To Your Hair Follicles – Now that you’ve nourished your blood and have set it free from DHT’s evil grasp, you need to make sure that it hasn’t been in vain. If your blood can’t get to your hair follicles, it doesn’t matter how optimized and “chock full of goodies” it is. The best way to restore sufficient circulation throughout the scalp is to use what has long been considered the most effective treatment of male pattern baldness to ever hit the market… minoxidil (Rogaine). A 5% topical solution applied to the affected area(s) of the scalp every morning is ideal for men.

Following this 3-step treatment of male pattern baldness will give you the very best chances of successful hair restoration.

One product that provides all three of these is Provillus. Many men have had great success with this product.

November 22nd, 2009

Tips to regrow loss hair
Most people start experiencing hair loss at the age of 30 and above. There are many reasons for hair loss. These include malnutrition, overly oily scalp, dirty scalp, medical treatments, stress ….. etc.

It is hard to find a cure if you don’t know what is the cause of your hair loss. It is difficult to properly diagnose your cause of hair loss even for doctors.

Unfortunately for most people they never got to find the cure to their problems. for lucky ones they may be able to find a cure for their problem.

hair loss is a big problem for many men and ladies as well. male pattern baldness usually starts in the crown area and slowly spreads to the top and back. for ladies it is usually thinning of the hair on the whole head.

There are scientifically proven drugs to treat hair loss one of which is finasteride and also minoxidil. finasteride is orally taken where as minoxidil is a topical solution. For men both drugs are effective. Unfortunately for women, finasteride is not for them to be taken as it is to curb certain hormones only found in men. for the ladies minoxidil is the only scientifically proven drug for them.

Other than the above mentioned there are also many ways to counter hair loss. Hair loss affects very much a person’s selfesteem in fact it could lead to depression.

Depending on what stage of hair loss you currently are and what kind of results you expect, below are some things you can do if your are in this position.

For the more severe cases you can do a hair transplant. how this works is that a doctor will cut out a piece of your scalp on areas where healthy hair is growing. they then sew up the area and hair folicales is extracted one by one from the cut out scalp and carefully transplanted on the bald areas. These transplanted hair will then grow as normal in the newly transplanted area.

A wig can also be used to cover up your bald area. This is less desirable as it may look fake and unnatural.

A suitable hair cut and hair style can also greatly improve your coverage. Most men even shave their entire head if they are balding too much.

What ever method you choose to stop hairloss be sure it is affordable to you. You may pay a lot of money to find a cure but if you cannot maintain it financially in the end you will start losing hair again once you stop the treatment.

Why Men Experience Hair Loss

November 20th, 2009

Hair loss is one of the things that can cause men the most stress and anxiety. It can lead to a decrease is self esteem. Hair loss usually occurs in men because of DHT,a hormone that is produced by testosterone, a chemical that causes the hair to become weaker and thinner until it eventually atrophies.

Male Pattern Baldess is the name given to the most common type of hair loss that starts and the crown and temples and results in a receding hair line and gradually thinning hair. In cases of Male Pattern Baldness hair at the sides and back of the head does not usually thin and fall out. This is because this hair is resistant to Dht and its effects on hair.

Hair loss normally begins after one’s teenage years but can start at an age. Male Pattern Baldness is usually a genetic condition but it does not necessarily follow that because one’s father is bald the son will also become bald or experience hair loss.

As hair loss can be such an emotive and emotional issue the market for hair loss products is huge and runs into millions of dollars per year. Although there are no medical disadvantages to losing ones hair or having it thin it can effect some people immensely.

The FDA only has only approved medicines as being effective against hair loss, Finasteride and Minoxidil. Finasteride works by affecting Dht and its negative effects towards hair. It is taken orally once per day and can take up to’ months to work. Minoxidil comes in a foam or liquid and is applied to the user’s scalp two times per day. Men can use a strength of up to 5 %, it improves blood flow to the scalp and it is hoped that this can slow down and help against hair loss.

Finasteride and Minoxidil are best at slowing down rates of thinning hair and hair loss. In some instances they have halted more hair loss, thickened hair and even regrown hair. There is no way to know how effective they will be from person to person and depend on the individual user. The results can take up to’ months to be seen and any benefits gained will be lost if the user discontinues using them.

There are hundreds of products and treatments that claim to reverse hairloss and thinning hair in men. If they are tried it is highly recommended that one consults their physician before using such products and is aware exactly what is contained in them in terms of ingredients.

Other options for those that have an issue with hair loss or thinning hair include cosmetic hair thickeners and hairpieces (also known as wigs and hair systems). The results of these cosmetic options can be very convincing and effective. Again, any kind of treatment should be looked at closely not just in terms of financial cost but in terms of health and safety.

Hair Loss Treatment

November 19th, 2009

One of peoples major concerns nowadays is looking good, there is no doubt that a good image is the key that unlocks the doors to success not only in business but also in personal relationships. The first impression that another person gets from you is extremely important and is what decides if they want and feel inspired to know you more and beyond that first click. So I guess we can say that image counts and we all know that hair plays a major role in shaping our appearance.

hair loss treatment
Male Pattern Baldness is hereditary, you get it from your mother! The explaination is genetic and linked to your mothers X-Chromosome. You have also an explaination of how your mother got the gene! There is a popular commercial on television talking about a hair loss treatment product that is “stronger than heredity”. This commercial has a young man who talks about his father, who like most men in that family, was bald by 30. The commercial is both correct and incorrect, Male Pattern Baldness is hereditary but you get it from your mother!

Well you seem to have a lot of products in the market that say they can solve the hair loss on man which I personally do not believe, since it´s a genetic problem and the cells on those affected areas will eventually die. However you have expensive hair implants and/or really good products that can delay your hair loss and prevent the inevitable for a while, until you have the means to embrace another solution like hair implants or quantum medicine that I will be talking about another time.

The most amazing product that I have found was a Brazilian shampoo with a formula containing plants from the Amazonian region. And I found because the product has taken first brazil and then the world by surprise due to it´s impressive results . This shampoo is advised for people who have hair loss problems and are looking for a hair loss treatment and also to people usually women who want to speed hair growth. I personaly have tested this product being on the road to eventual baldness I studied a lot of solutions until I found this one and I can tell that either you have a lot of money to invest in hair transplants and other expensive solutions that don´t give you 100% satisfaction guarantee or you try to delay your hair loss problem until a more affordable and efficient way to solve your situation comes along.
I strongly advise you to try this shampoo, if you wann know more you can follow the links on the top of the page. I will be writing another articles on this matter so If you liked this one stay tunned.

Provillus Solution – Will It Really Regrow Your Hair?

November 19th, 2009

If youre wondering if the Provillus solution for hair loss could potentially benefit you, please consider the following tips. By taking the time to read this article, you could be saving yourself untold amounts of time, money, and heartache.

The fact of the matter is that the Provillus solution is not meant for every individual. If one of the following applies to you, you are much better off implementing a different hair restoration strategy such as hair plugs or transplants.

bThe Provillus solution for hair loss will NOT help people who:/b

Are completely bald, by no choice of their own.
Have fully exposed parts of the scalp (no hair cover whatsoever).
Have experienced hair loss due to chemotherapy, surgery, or trauma.
Have lost their hair due to injury such as a burn or removal of scalp.

The Provillus solution for hair loss was really designed to treat one type of hair loss; iandrogenetic alopecia/i. This is more commonly referred to as male or female pattern baldness.

Pattern baldness occurs as the result of a certain hormones build-up inside your bloodstream. This hormone is called DHT (dihydrotestosterone), the offspring of the 5-alpha reductase enzyme and good ole testosterone.

DHT congregates in your scalp and clings to the hair follicles, rendering them unable to absorb required nutrients from the blood. This results in thinning at first, then complete death of the hair follicles. Again, this is why Provillus solution will not work for people who are totally bald. There is no hair follicle left to be revived.

However, if your pattern hair loss is in its early to middle stages, and your hair is thinning, but youre not showing off a shiny, bald scalp, then the Provillus solution for hair loss may be a very good option for you.

The Provillus solution is a two part treatment system that fights DHT and regrows hair. It does this both internally and externally.

Internally, Provillus uses a special formulation of vitamin b6, magnesium, zinc, and biotin to provide ample hair nourishment in your blood. It also contains saw palmetto, a known DHT inhibitor (also great for the male prostate gland).

Externally, the Provillus solution includes a minoxidil topical. Each morning, you should massage a dropper full of minoxidil into the affected area(s) of your scalp. For women, a 2% solution is ideal while men most greatly benefit from a 5% solution.

These two treatments with seperate delivery methods are believed to work synergistically, with the supplement providing the good stuff to your blood and the minoxidil optimizing the delivery of that blood to your hair follicles.

If your hair loss is treatable, and you believe that Provillus may be the right treatment option for you, then you are most definitely invited to take a closer look.

This treatment option has helped thousands of people regrow their hair. Is it possible you could be next? Click the following link to find out!

New Paradigm Of Male Hair Loss

November 19th, 2009

Most men will experience hair loss in their lifetimes. Its estimated that seventy percent of adult males will experience some degree of balding, while advanced male pattern baldness will affects over one half of them.

Thats a staggering figure! Seventy Percent!
Unfortunately, a large number of hangups are tied in with mens hair. When youre a youth and wearing it long, be it “Bon Jovi” style or the classic mullet, your hair is an image of your youth and virility. As you enter your prime, your hair and its style reflect your success and power. And, as you continue to age, your hair begins to define you as distinguished and knowledgeable (think of Sean Connery, for example).

And, continuing these unfortunate circumstances, our modern culture continues to reinforce these negative stereotypes. Think of the ads where the older man, with perfect hair, frolics with the very young, nubile woman – typically in a pool or the ocean.

The image is clear. If you want to be sexually desirable and viewed as viril, you need a full head of luscious hair.

I wonder how Telly Savalas would feel about that?
There are several issues here we need to address, not only the cultural problems but the medical as well.

One is that men must begin to recognize hair loss is natural, and youre not the only one! Almost three-quarters of our population will be or is going through what youre going through.

Second is that your abilities and vigor are not represented by your hair. Only when you make cheap attempts to hide it does it reflect negatively upon you. If youre loosing your hair, you can address it naturally, while telling your barber to trim your hair to not negatively accentuate your hair loss.

To put it another way, age gracefully!
Continuing the negative effects of this, most companies answers to male baldness is to prescribe harsh chemicals to be applied – typically at a cost of about $40 a month!

Its not widely discussed, but there are many causes for male hair loss:

hormonal changes stress poor scalp and hair care.
And, yes, you MAY be one of those men who have a biological reason for hair loss But modern studies have shown that it is not necessarily the heredity sure-thing we used to think. Just because your grandfather on your moms side was bald as a cue-ball doesnt mean you will be.

And, the thought of putting those chemical treatments directly on my scalp is a frightening thing.

Turns out, modern thinking points out that a lifetime of poor scalp care could be starving out your hair and causing it to simply die off and fall out.

Perhaps we need a new hair care and scalp-treatment approach to hair loss.

Advancement In Hair Transplantation

November 18th, 2009

A standard hair transplantation procedure involves the removal of donor strip of hair from the back of the head from where the follicular unit grafts are dissected under a microscope. These grafts are then preserved in saline and are then transplanted on a bald patch on the crown area of the scalp.

Given the time consuming and tedious nature of this procedure, a hair transplant surgeon is often able to transplant only about 500 to 600 follicular unit grafts per day. However, thanks to the recent hair transplant advances, this technique is often replaced by the follicular unit extraction (FUE). The cost per graft of FUE is typically twice the cost of the standard follicular unit hair transplant procedure discussed above but it is comparatively faster and minimally invasive.

Some hair transplant advances

In a typical FUE procedure a small round punch is made in the donor area to directly extract 1, 2, 3 and 4 hair follicular unit grafts. The follicular units extracted using this process is typically referred to as blunt dissection where a punch is made to envelope the entire follicular unit separating it from the surrounding soft tissues.

Once the underlying follicular unit is separated from the surrounding tissues, it is easily extracted using a small forceps. The small holes left behind after the follicular unit extraction gradually heal over the next few days and are not detectable to the naked eye once the patients hair grows out. The healing time is much less than the donor strip extraction procedure.

While the FUE procedure has been adopted by most hair transplant clinics, the standard strip excision method is still the most popular hair transplant procedure because it is more economical than the FUE.

Moreover, due to some recent hair transplant advances such as the use of trichophytic closure technique, the linear donor scar created by the strip excision procedure is now often rendered almost undetectable to the naked eye. This advancement in the hair transplantation technique has made FUE procedure relatively less appealing.

Hair transplantation research

Besides the hair transplant advances in the transplantation procedures, a lot of research is also underway to clone the hair. If the hair transplantation research is successful it will be possible to make several copies of donor hair in the laboratory. The application of this technique would be used in the form of hair transplantation. In the traditional procedures, the biggest limitation is often the donor which is not able to meet required density. However, hair cloning promises to overcome this problem by having the amount of hair required to be grown in a laboratory from a single donor hair and then implanting it into the scalp.

Hair transplantation research for cloning is very difficult and there are many hurdles that have to be overcome regarding the safety and cosmetic characteristics of the cloned hair. Some hair transplantation research has also provided breakthrough for some hair loss medication like Dutasteride.

The Leading Causes of Hair Loss

November 15th, 2009

Alopecia or hair loss is a very common thing but it can also be an embarrassing time for patients and it can be very stressful. There are some obvious reasons for hair loss in men such as old age and genetics, but there are some medical conditions that can cause mild and severe hair loss. The following conditions are the leading causes for hair loss in men and women.

Firstly, chemical breakage is probably the leading cause for hair loss in women. It’s usually caused by over processing with hair dye and bleach. It can cause serious damage to your hair but everyone’s threshold is different. It can happen as early as the first time you dye your hair or as late as 20 years after having dyed your hair on a regular basis.

Hypothyroidism is a medical condition that causes hair loss in both men and women and this is because your thyroid gland regulates a set of hormones in your body. Any defecit will cause symptoms and hypothyroidism is one that can causes severe hair loss. However, it doesn’t always present so make sure that you get tested if you have other symptoms such as weight gain, tiredness and fatigue and a cold body temperature or an intolerance to the cold.

One of the most widely known causes of hair loss is chemotherapy. This is the treatment that most cancer patients are put on and it can cause some pretty nasty side effects, one of which is hair loss. This is because it’s such a hardcore treatment and it simply kills a lot of things in your body in order to kill the cancer – it’s a pain in the neck but hair loss is better than having cancer!

Then of course, there’s the genetic side of things which may or may not be treatable. It depends on the condition; Genodermatosis for example, is a skin condition which can cause hair loss and it is a hereditary disease – there are treatment options available for this condition but not for all.

So, now that you’re aware of the leading causes of hair loss, you should be able to have a better understanding. If you’re worried about hair loss then it’s always a good idea to speak to your GP to find out what could be causing the problem. It could be something as simple as poor diet and nutrition so make sure you get it checked out as soon as possible.
